This month we’d like to introduce you to Sandy. Sandy has been a part of our team for quite some time now, and is loved by many of our members. Sandy has worked as a swim school instructor for over 27 years. From time to time members will have spotted her in the kiosk as well as the pool.
Given her dedication to the facility, it was only right that we took some time to get to know Sandy.
When talking with Sandy, she expressed that her passion about Gladstone Aquatic Centre comes from working within a diverse environment with the local Gladstone community.
Since starting as a swimming instructor, Sandy has continued to find enjoyment in watching children learn and achieve as they progress through different levels. Outside of work, Sandy enjoys playing 8 ball, reading and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
In true Gladstone tradition we asked Sandy what her favourite ice cream flavour is, to which she responded with “a lemonade icy pole on a hot day”.

What is the role of a Learn To Swim Instructor?
A Learn To Swim Instructor is responsible for the operation of our BlueFit Swimming program. These teams all work to develop aquatic safety and confidence in our students.
