NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK 2024

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK 2024 cover

National Reconciliation Week (NRW), marked annually from May 27th to June 3rd, serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to advance reconciliation in Australia.

This year’s theme “Now More Than Ever” highlights our commitment to justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As we reflect on our reconciliation journey, it’s imperative to recognise that progress requires active participation from all Australians.

To support reconciliation efforts, we can start by amplifying Indigenous voices and acknowledging the truth of our shared history. This means engaging in conversations and listening to the stories and experiences of First Nations people with empathy and respect.

Furthermore, reconciliation is about fostering genuine connections and building meaningful relationships based on mutual understanding and respect. By actively participating in community events, cultural celebrations and initiatives led by Indigenous communities, we can contribute to building a more inclusive and reconciled Australia.

Together, let’s commit to taking actions that honour the spirit of reconciliation and pave the way for a future built on justice, equality and unity.
