Gladstone Regional Council have announced the ‘Glenlyon Street Road Upgrade’ scheduled this year. Starting on Monday 5th February and running through to late June 2024, these works will be carried out Monday to Friday with weekend work expected at varying times throughout.
The works are estimated to be completed in late June 2024 with site conditions and weather permitting. This road upgrade project is part of the Council’s Capital Works program and will include significant road pavement renewal and widening along Glenlyon Street.
Whilst these works will not directly affect our available services and facilities, our team would like to advise all members and swim school families to allow extra time for possible traffic disruptions and reduced speed limits.
Locals have also been advised to expect the following:
- Noise, vibration, dust and operation of heavy machinery can be expected from the project site.
- Motorists are urged to follow signage and directions of traffic control including any detours.
- Pedestrians please follow signage and directions.
- Please plan for delays, and prepare for changed road conditions and detours.
Our team will be providing further updates via our monthly newsletter and social media pages. To ensure you are kept up to date with these works and how they affect the centre, please ensure you are following Gladstone Aquatic Centre on Facebook and Instagram.
