Temporary 25m Pool Closure From 18 September to 3 October 2021

Sept Newsletter Headers (5)

We are thrilled to announce that Council has received a further $2.4m of State Government funding to assist with additional upgrades at the Gladstone Aquatic Centre.

These additional works including 25m pool tile replacement and heating system upgrade, 50m pool tile replacement, 25m pool enclosure upgrade, grandstand and shade sail upgrades and 50m pool heating system. Works have been planned in stages over 2022 and 2023 to maximise your use of the facility throughout the project. We will communicate with you in advance of any closures.

With the initial works, the Splash Zone upgrade has been completed and re-opened from Wednesday, 1st September 2021!

In the immediate term, critical works are necessary to the 25m pool to correct some pipework failures that are causing water and heat losses. These priority works will require emptying the pool, with a temporary closure of the 25m pool planned from 18 September to 3 October.

All Learn to Swim classes and payments will automatically be placed on hold for the duration of the closure. All our students will retain their place in class and there is nothing you need to do.

The 50m pool will remain open for lap swimming. You can view our lap lane availability here. You can also read our latest facility update to find out more about all the exciting developments planned for the Gladstone Aquatic Centre.

If you have any questions about the project please email us at gladstone@bluefit.com.au.
