Upgrades to our 25m pool are nearing completion and we’re looking forward to offering an improved pool and building for use soon. The temporary roof over the 50m pool has provided great comfort for patrons while the 25m pool has been closed for upgrades.
Now, as we prepare to reopen our indoor heated pool, a short closure of the 50m pool is required to allow the removal of the temporary roof. We have the works scheduled from 10am Thursday, 1st to 3pm Friday 2nd of September.
During this time we will be unable to run swimming lessons on Thursday. These lessons will be cancelled and family accounts will be credited. No action is required on your behalf. However, the pool will be ready by 3pm on Friday and all lessons on Friday afternoon will proceed as planned.
Gladstone Regional Council is being assisted to deliver this improved facility for the region with:
- $1.2m State Government funding, through the COVID Works for Queensland Program
- $1.6m through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program
- $2.4m State Government funding, through the 2021-24 Works for Queensland Program.
